A vintage circa 1970s Japanese fine silk Kimono robe. It's made from woven Chirimen silk and has hand embroidered and painted floral details on the back. Chirimen fabric is a thick, heavy silk crepe. This weaving technique was developed in Japan over 500 years ago. Chirimen fabric drapes beautifully, and it is difficult to crease. The robe has a double synthetic fabric lining. Please note that this is a heavier style of Kimono and is more suited to wearing during colder seasons.
