A circa 1970s Japanese silk Kimono robe. It's made from woven Chirimen silk and has a vibrant all-over print. The chirimen fabric is a thick, heavy silk crepe. This weaving technique was developed in Japan over 500 years ago. Chirimen fabric drapes beautifully, and it is difficult to crease. The robe is fully lined with silk and has a beautiful red color gradient on the lower hem.
